As a chef-driven catering company managed by Diversity Food Services, we are passionate about crafting exceptional dining experiences while making a positive social and economic impact in our community. Founded in 2009 by Dr. Lloyd Axworthy, former President of the University of Winnipeg, Spruce Catering was built on a commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical food practices.

Our executive leadership is proudly women-led, with CEO Jessica Young, COO Melanie Gerodias-Mitchell, and Executive Director of Finance Pamela Kirkpatrick steering our mission forward.

We also recognize and celebrate the contributions of Kirsten Godbout, our CEO/Director of Operations and one of the first to work at Diversity Foods Services, as she prepares for retirement.

We proudly partner with local farmers and producers, including Prairie Quinoa, DeRuyck’s Top of the Hill Farm, Tamarack Farms, and Wild Earth Farms, Bothwell Cheese, Nature's Farm, and more ensuring that our ingredients are fresh, high-quality, and sourced with care. By supporting local agriculture, we reduce our environmental footprint while strengthening Manitoba’s food economy.Our impact extends beyond our ingredients—we are dedicated to creating meaningful employment opportunities.
